Our Urgent Care Centres

How They Work

Greenbrook Healthcare is the leading provider of Primary Care Led Urgent Care Centres across London and the surrounding areas, leading innovation in this field to deliver and continuously improve high quality patient focused care.

All but one of our Urgent Care Centres (UCCs) are co-located within hospital Accident and Emergency departments.

Walk-in and ambulatory patients are streamed by one of our experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioners according to robust clinical guidelines. Seriously unwell or injured patients are directed into the Emergency Department and patients appropriate for the UCC are allocated as either an illness or injury. Typically our GPs or ANPs will see illness patients whilst ENPs and ECPs will treat patients presenting with minor injuries.

Ultimately our aim is to reduce the pressure on busy A&Es by seeing those patients suitable for a primary care environment, treating and discharging most and referring directly to hospital specialties where appropriate.

Each site is supported by both operational and clinical leadership teams and have a strong sense of teamwork among clinicians and operational staff alike.

We offer flexible working to fit around your commitments. Permanent GPs have access to the NHS pension scheme and up to six weeks annual leave and one week study leave plus other benefits. What Our Staff Say

Dr Olaleye Oginni - Clinical Director

What do you like about working at Greenbrook Healthcare?

"Greenbrook is an expanding organisation with a very good relationship between central management and the management team at each site. With good access to management, you feel listened to and you are given an opportunity to be involved in decision making in relation to local issues. Care is more patient focused rather than target oriented with no QOF, LES/DES. With sound clinical governance in place, there is continuous review of service delivery through audits, incidents and logs and learning gets shared across the organisation."

What do you think GPs thinking of applying to Greenbrook would want to know?

"Whether as a fresh GP from training or a more experienced GP Partner, there are opportunities for career development with mentorship where needed. As an expanding organisation with various units there are short and long shifts available. This makes flexible working available to suit personal circumstances. Remunerations are highly competitive. Units are well staffed with constant review of the level of clinical staff against the demand ensuring that clinicians are not unduly overstretched and can practice safely."

Mary Adeagbo - Lead Nurse Queen Elizabeth Hospital UCC

What do you like about working at Greenbrook Healthcare?

"I like working for Greenbrook Healthcare as their ethos of transparency and excellence aligns with my personal ethos as a Nurse who has been in healthcare for over 10 years and has been fortunate to work with only the best providers in the NHS. I also like the fact the all members of the senior management team are easily accessible and always available to help when called on. Although Greenbrook manages numerous Urgent Care Centres and General Practices, this doesn’t take away from the quality of care provided in each individual site or listening to the voice of each individual employee. I also like the fact that there is a Director of Nursing who carries forward the nursing objectives and projects a strong nursing voice amongst the senior managers within the organisation."

What makes Greenbrook different from other NHS providers?

"It is clear that Greenbrook places patients at the centre of everything they do.  There is a continuous drive to consistently provide quality care through clinical governance, recruiting only the best candidates, shared learning across the organisation and opportunities for learning and development."

Aarika Scott - Senior Resource Manager

What do you like about working at Greenbrook Healthcare?

"I like the people that I work with and all work well together as a team. I like that Greenbrook have given me opportunity to progress in my role and further my development."

What makes Greenbrook different from other NHS providers?

"Greenbrook are quite a small organisation which is nice because everyone knows each other and you are able to speak to and contact all members of the senior management team including the CEO. Which doesn't happen, a lot in other companies."

What do you think people would want to know about Greenbrook that they can't see from the outside?

"I think people don't see the hard work which goes on behind the scenes in all the urgent care centres and practices which Greenbrook run including the central team to ensure good performances and patient safety is delivered to a high standard."
